On behalf of my gender, I apologize for what he's done. A real man doesn't behave like that. Guys, take a lesson from this, if you're with someone and you are ready to end it, do so cleanly, swiftly and respectfully. It might get ugly and you may hurt someone but it'll be worse if you avoid it trying to spare their feelings. And ladies you take a lesson too. Just cause a guy breaks up with you doesn't make him a jerk or you undesirable. Take a break up maturely and move on.
