Working together means working TOGETHER. It's 30 pages, you had what? a month to do it? Should have met multiple times in that time. How do you divide a research paper in half anyway? If you didn't notice he wasn't gonna finish, you should at least have something. And how would you turn it in? Meet right before class and put the two halves together? Seems like you purposely divided the work in such a way to set yourself up for this, or if the assignment was somehow designed to be split up easily, why make it a joint project at all? At least you have your half and a text, you probably won't get the grade you deserve, but you shouldn't get an F either.

Wow that sucks. Ive been in your situation before. Show your instructor the text message you got. Hopefully he or she will be able to sit you and your partner down your workin on your proj with and speak to you both. Maybe this person will change their mind once they speak to the instructor? Either that or show your instructor the text and offer to take full credit leaving your partner empty handed. Gosh this reminds me of a group presentation I did. Two people didnt put in any effort and at the last min offered to help and guess what? They ****** it all up to holy freaking hell
