Most officers I know are reasonable and respectable. The few who aren't ruin the reputation of the rest, similar to the idiots who ruin it for those who have some small amount of common sense.

Try paying your ticket with monopoly money :)

I'm pretty sure School Zone speed limits only apply on days when school is in session and kids are present. At least that's the law in Illinois. You should argue it.

Wow your the first person that is correct in here.

I agree it sucks but if there are posted signs and the putting them up ahead a time to let the public know your at fought better to put them up now then the day it's open and you run a little kid over!!!

The speed limit sign is In affect no matter what...and if it's a time scape that's what screwed you over..,

If the speed limit is posted that is the speed limit. Sorry OP.

And that is what you get for speeding. :p

Same reply to the other guy, what do you want to tell the judge? It is not up to you whether or not you have to follow a speed limit. If the sign is there, you have to obey it, regardless of whether the school is there or not. That is, of course, all on the condition the speeding ticket was a correct and legal one...

Generally most school zone speeds are posted for a set time (usually 7 or 8 am to 3 or 4 pm). If the school isn't in session then that doesn't apply and you can go the normal speed. Try it in court if you think you can win?
