If their ignorance actually cost you your job, that is stretching it a bit, but you can probably get the entire group on slander for saying your shrimp was bad and not even cooking it. Sue for wage amounts until you find a new job.

Our seafood place has the option of raw or steamed/seasoned (they steam the raw you buy for free). Maybe the wedding party wanted steamed shrimp and was delivered the wrong thing. I would still blame the idiot who put it out at the wedding rather than the wholesaler but it is possible you screwed up their order. shrimp is usually not served raw, even in sushi dishes the shrimp is cooked, its delicate and goes bad too fast for most preparations. The bride, groom, their family and their friends must be beyond stupid for not ONE person to realize the shrimp was raw.
