i never beat my kids, but i did teach them fear... they grew up afraid of ever giving me a reason to beat them. OP, YDI. take control now or you will never have it. btw my kids turned out just fine and know how to raise their kids.

I have to agree with the other comments - FYL but YDI too for not teaching the kid discipline. Parents are afraid to be parents these days because they don't want to get slapped with a child abuse lawsuit. There's a difference between discipline and abuse. Spanking a kid is fine, if it's a pop on the butt and not the face. No wonder people shake their heads at the law stating you have to have a license to drive a car, but not to have a kid. Teach your kid discipline now (he's old enough at 4), or you'll be raising a juvenile delinquent 10 years down the road.

He's 4? That is really inappropriate for his age, in that he shouldn't even know cuss words yet but he should be more than old enough to be "potty trained." FYL but YDI because... teach the kid some discipline, come on.

Leather is easier to clean than cloth.... But 1st would have mushed his face in it..

Just be glad it's leather and not suade. Leather is much easier to clean and deodorize.
