Today, I had a food allergy test done because of an ugly acne upswing, and after over a year of vegetarianism, I find out that I'm allergic to soy. FML

Today, I tried to blow my girlfriend's vegan parents minds by cooking them a tofu stir-fry. Being allergic to tofu but wanting to prove my cooking skills, I wore gloves and avoided touching my face. Somehow, I still managed to get it in my eye, causing an allergic reaction that made my face swell up like a balloon. Now her parents think I'm some sort of Martian. FML

People, seriously, shut the hell up on hating vegetarians. It's a personal choice, and if they're not pushing it on you, then you have no right to be pushing them to eat meat. There are entire countries with the majority of it's people being vegetarian. Do you hate on them? And I really doubt some of you are !00% carnivores. You can't survive on just meat, just so you know. There are other things you can eat besides soy products, and there are other alternatives. Also, you guys aren't being witty or funny with your comments saying, "Oh too bad, just go eat a steak and get over it." You're just sounding like an idiot.

Anadoll: our brain IS our greatest weapon. Now if you wanna try your luck against a lion unarmed, go right ahead no one here will stop you. Stop trying to get people to be vegetarians just because of something you believe. That said, I do respect people's choices in what they eat(maybe except the hippie ones) and being allergic to soy would suck a lot since tofu and soy milk are pretty ballin' food.

You people are ridiculous. YAH for being a vegetarian. I have been one almost going on 6 years now and I don't eat soy all the time. You can be a vegetarian and not eat soy it's called educating yourself on the different foods that are out there. Go to a Better Health and have an employee answer your questions.

#168 FTW #182 anadoll your comment couldnt have been anymore stupider "ha, On top of the food chain, only because we have little buildings around our selves and spread like weeds"

siriuslee: Speaking for myself, I'm not against vegetarianism like a lot of posters here APPEAR to be. (My guess is that they're actually just talking smack for the fun of it.) Whatever you want to eat is fine with me. I'll even go so far as to agree that most Americans (including me) eat too much meat compared to grains, veggies, etc. (I do get free-range beef, though. Pricy, but it is much better meat.) But for whatever reason, vegetarians and omnivores like to use it as a fighting point. Let me tell you the same story a few times with the names changed slightly: "MAC! PC!" "WII! PS3! XBOX!" "JESUS! MUHAMMAD! CTHULU! KING OF ENGLAND!" "DEMOCRAT! REPUBLICAN!" And so on. There isn't much real discussion here. Even the people with real talking points slip in some name-calling and other such B.S. (I do not claim innocence.) I just think it's funny that the whole point of the FML was COMPLETELY lost. A soy allergy sucks under any circumstances. YOU CAN'T EAT A ******* SNICKERS BAR IF YOU CAN'T EAT SOY! THAT IS NO WAY TO LIVE, PEOPLE! ;)

You can easily be vegetarian without eating soy. If you're vegan, then FYL. I'm almost vegetarian--I only eat chicken as far as meat is concerned, and I'm not fat at all. I just don't like the way meat tastes. Stop being so condescending.

Well, you've gotten far into the list of comments. I can't count the number of times I pushed the "report abuse" button. I think that counts. Aside from addiction, there is no excuse for eating meat. Do some goddamn research!

Serves you right for not having the sense to eat meat

Go have some veal. I hear it does wonders for the skin.

I don't understand the meat snobbery in this forum. How tragic and unfortunate. Anyway, I am animal free as well and there are plenty of ways to get around eating soy but still getting proper nutrition. Consult with someone who specialises in dietetics. Good luck to you x
