Today, I had a food allergy test done because of an ugly acne upswing, and after over a year of vegetarianism, I find out that I'm allergic to soy. FML

Today, I tried to blow my girlfriend's vegan parents minds by cooking them a tofu stir-fry. Being allergic to tofu but wanting to prove my cooking skills, I wore gloves and avoided touching my face. Somehow, I still managed to get it in my eye, causing an allergic reaction that made my face swell up like a balloon. Now her parents think I'm some sort of Martian. FML

People, seriously, shut the hell up on hating vegetarians. It's a personal choice, and if they're not pushing it on you, then you have no right to be pushing them to eat meat. There are entire countries with the majority of it's people being vegetarian. Do you hate on them? And I really doubt some of you are !00% carnivores. You can't survive on just meat, just so you know. There are other things you can eat besides soy products, and there are other alternatives. Also, you guys aren't being witty or funny with your comments saying, "Oh too bad, just go eat a steak and get over it." You're just sounding like an idiot.

On the plus side - now you know what was causing the acne and can won't have it anymore...

I HATE the people here saying YDL or "go eat meat" or similar seriously STFU and man don't worry haha, there's always lentils, beans, tvp etc for protein :)

God is trying to tell you to stop being a ******* pussy and eat meat!

Well, soy is hard to avoid but not impossible! I try to not eat that much soy, and I'm also a vegetarian, and it's not so hard. Just avoid fake meats and processed foods. You'll probably eat up eating healthier :) And another thing to think about is that soy isn't very good for the environment because it takes lots of water to be grown and lots of pesticides and chemicals are used on it and there are other things too... so, take it as a good thing xD

we5sleyz tells it like it is

Even as a vegan, on my sickest day (which is rare, hey, I'm vegan for ****'s sake) I could kick all of your "pro-meat" asses. ;) OP, soy probably isn't causing the acne. Cheese, on the other hand, would.

That's what you get for going veg. Throwing away millions of years of evolution which enabled our species to eat meat. Ungrateful asshole.

I didn't even bother skimming the comments, I know better, but I just wanted to say that I'm intolerant of soy (always have been). I've also been vegan for 3 years. The only trouble I have is when I'm craving chocolate soymilk. Delicious! There's soy in pretty much everything, even meat, since they feed it to the animals.
