Today, I had a mild allergic reaction from eating pasta salad. I told my mom that I might be allergic to the parsley, since it was the only ingredient that I don't eat often. She made me eat a sprig of it to "make sure." Now my face is covered in hives. FML

Today, I tried to blow my girlfriend's vegan parents minds by cooking them a tofu stir-fry. Being allergic to tofu but wanting to prove my cooking skills, I wore gloves and avoided touching my face. Somehow, I still managed to get it in my eye, causing an allergic reaction that made my face swell up like a balloon. Now her parents think I'm some sort of Martian. FML

wow. Not good at parenting then.

As someone who went through the same thing (I was an idiot and also wanted to be sure), I can only hope that someone gave you benedryl. It's not fun waiting for the symptoms to go away.

Soak in a bath full of oatmeal, oat soothes the skin.

Does your mom also make you do the ""Helmet Test" where you put on a helmet and run headfirst into a hard wall to test its durability?
