You should have refused and told them to phone him for proof.
God I hate it when they do that! They tell you to bring a note for when you're unable to participate then when you do, they don't believe you! STUPID!
Don't be so submissive next time, just don't do it.
You not defending yourself makes it seem like you were lying. Stand your ground next time.
Stand my ground I won't give in / the more you're lying I got to face it / or close my eyes and hide down deep inside / If I dont make it I will stand my ground * within temptation
That seems like what I would do too. If the teachers don't like it, they can send you to the principals office where you probably won't get in any trouble because you have a note.
refuse to do it and tell them to call old gramps for confirmaton, or to call your parents to confirm your injury. They cannot make you do a thing and it would only look bad on them if they got mad.
Happened to a friend of mine in grade school. She ended up hurting an already bad wrist permanently in a rousing game of crab soccer she didn't want to play. She settled for gobs of money and now lives in a rich suburb of Connecticut.

Apparently only kids in school are allowed to have poor handwriting these days...shoulda said your grandpa was a doctor, that'd clear it right up
Oww. If those staff suspected anything, couldn't they have checked the ankle? Our staff could have.
