Today, I had a small gathering of family and friends over to celebrate my son's baptism. One of my friends happens to be a police officer. The entire event consisted of him arresting three of my family members. Don't worry, he came back to get some cake. FML

I don't see anything wrong with this as long as everyone got cake.

That's what you get for combining your son's baptism with your annual underground ****-fighting night.

i hate vague fml's because we don't know what happened really

Like the beaver one a few days ago. I was itching for an explanation for that one.

my bad ur fine as hell lol..if I knew how to get a pic up I would lol..

my bad I tried to send this a second ago but wouldn't go thru..u r fine as hell lol id put a pic up but I don't kno how lol..get at me. ;) ..

Are you really using FML to pick up women?! without even having a picture of yourself posted up? Sigh..

you deserve it for being friends with a cop

oh shit! I was freaking out that he didn't come back for cake! You had me scared for a second there! I can sleep now:)

I thought cops couldn't actually make arrests whilst off duty?

Short of a really serious crime like murder or kidnapping, yeah that is pretty much what they do. Not call 911 but they'll just phone a on duty LEO to come get them. Do you work on your days off for free?

If your job is to maintain the peace, then I'm pretty sure they should be required to do that at all times if they witness a crime.

To me, that sounds like if an EMT, surgeon or other medical professional doing nothing more than calling 911 if they saw somebody collapse/go into cardiac arrest/get hit by a car/etc. if it was their day off. Depending on their specialty, and the type of injury, they might be more limited in what they could do in some situations, but still, you'd expect at least something.

well same goes for me as well, being a nurse, I am no longer covered under the good samaritan law because I have a license so if I screw up on something, that goes against my license and I could get in trouble

they still technically have the right to make a citizen's arrest

he went there just to arrest them or you're family is just outa control?

I know this has nothing to do with the fml but awesome back piece

Yeah, but I bet your criminal family members would be welcomed back, wouldn't they? The criminals are the ones who ruined the event, not the cop.

Well don't have stupid family members who break the law then?

guess he's not such a friend and sees your family as great place to boost his arrest numbers.
