Yeah, I doubt they'd hire ANYBODY without doing a background check. Registered sex offenders would never be hired if working with kids. I, too, call BS.

Could be a few things. Firstly he could have been from an agency and the school assumed the agency did their job, or secondly they could have hired him while still waiting on the criminal background check to come back as they usually take a couple days.

Shouldn't the dance class be canceled? That isn't exactly a class that a substitute can teach... Also, there have been a lot of instances where schools short on staff would hire people without background checks.

I find that hard to believe. Most schools do background checks before allowing someone to substitute.

Today, I finally got hired as a substitute teacher. I had been having trouble getting work lately; it turns out there's a registered sex offender with the same name as me. A girl took out her camera and started taking pictures, so I confiscated it and put it on my desk. I'm now locked up because of a big misunderstanding. FML.
