Today, I had a substitute teacher for my dance class. I noticed at one point, he took out a camera. The principal came in, everyone was going crazy, and the teacher was dragged out of the classroom. He was taking videos and pictures of us dancing. Turns out he was a registered sex offender. FML

ew that reminds me of this sub i had in 6th grade, apparently he grabs a girls boob in the class after mine.. there was this big deal about it and i heard he got thrown in jail. that really sucks. the school system needs to check up on their subs or their teachers in general

20 only public schools have to, and then only schools for those in k-12. Dance class typically isn't included in a public k-12 curriculum. So she either goes to a private religious school -and those typically require parents to help, and rarely if ever do background checks on parents, or this wasn't a school in the sense of the Monday-friday 7 hours/day, 180 days a year sense

I volunteered in a primary school for three months, working with five and six year olds. I was never CRB checked. Don't forget that 'the school system' is just a bunch of people. And sometimes people are lazy. This shit does happen. In the UK it's illegal to leave someone like me unsupervised in a room with pupils because I have no official teacher training... but it happened lots of times. Luckily, I'm not a pervert. But I imagine a lot of parents would be very disconcerted if they knew how lax that school really is about checking people.

Our school doesn't do checks unless the person is hired more than a few times.

Where was his CORI report??? You can't start without that shit unless you know the Pope, Prime Minister, and President of the Ukraine.

ALSO! To everyone who calls BS, YOU. ARE. NOT. GOD! You can't know that in this certain situation it couldn't happen. You can't know all the details of the post so you shouldn't immediately jump to the conclusion that "Oh it's fake because blah blah blah"

Dance classes create the most wonderful times (e.g. the exhibitionist outside our window... treasured memories) But maybe in 10 years you'll laugh half-heartedly about it

@ #58, the majority of cases where the convicted person has to register as a sex offender involve sexual crimes. if they really did do it, they deserve to go to jail, they deserve to have less opportunities than law-abiding and mentally healthy citizens and they deserve to be ostricized until they get better. Any person so selfish that they will traumatize other people just to satisfy themselves is sick and can only hurt a society. and if you pee in a bush and manage to get caught by the police, you didnt have that many opportunities in life to begin with.
