By chance, is your friend's name Barney Stinson?
Suit up!
Congratulations on getting the job OP.
Gotta say, that's a bit of a crappy friend if "playing a joke" = "possibly costing my friend a job"
Congratz!
always wear at least a shirt and tie to an interview.
I think they mean business casual when they said casual which, as I've been taught, is not a full suit but definitely not jeans. I'd never wear jeans to an interview unless the interviewer specifically says you can. Dress slacks would have been better. Always better to overdresss - I've been told this shows that you're really serious about working there since you put more time in looking professional.
Wow! You must have had an amazing interview if you still got the job! Congratulations :) I hope at the very least that your friend put in a good word for you, which helped counteract the jeans/blouse appearance. And like you said, you'll know better for next time.
don't rely on others. perceptions are different for everyone.

Even if the office has a casual dress policy, you should have worn a business suit for your interview.
Casually kick your friend's ass
