Today, I had an interview for my dream job. I spent all of last night preparing, researching the company, and making sure everything was perfect. My interview was for 8am. I woke up at 10:30 to an alarm that had not gone off. FML

Always set multiple alarms. When it's something this important, you don't leave anything to chance.

Sounds like you have a pretty alarming problem.

Although not as big a deal as your unfortunate situation, I know the feeling OP! I worked till 1am and had a 7:30am important doctors appointment to get up for. I'd waited 3 weeks for my appointment and what did I do? Woke up 2 hours later, alarm had gone off but it didn't wake me up. Hopefully you can work something out and have another interview. Good luck!

Tell them you are the perfect employee, except for the reliability part.

Interviewer: So, tell me about your weaknesses. OP: Well, I have an alarm that doesn't always ring when it's supposed to, and... Interviewer: I see we could have a potential problem here.

i feel bad for your situation, but next time, don't wait until the very last minute to prepare, especially for a "dream" job. and, like many have said before, set multiple alarms.

Happens to me quite often. I can never figure out if I've subconsciously turned it off or if it just didn't go off :

Call them back and say something happened and you could not make it.

Oh... So sorry for u... Next tym Remember to keep 2-3 alarms...

Poor thing, but can't help to think you deserved it. Its exactly the same as last minute study all night for an early exam the next morning and find yourself late.

Man, I couldn't imagine that happening. Hopefully you can either still get that job or at least find another similar job.

Uhm, it's hard to feel sorry for you, for oversleeping.
