Today, in court, my client ran his mouth at the judge, cursing him out and then trying to lecture him on "freedom of speech" when he was found in contempt. I don't know what it is with these nutjobs, but I wish I'd never become a public defender. FML

When I was a kid, I was in trouble with the cops CONSTANTLY. When the system finally got tired of ******' around with me, I ended up in front of a judge. My assigned counsel had never been the lead in front of a judge before. She was stammering and sweating PUDDLES and stumbling over herself. At one point, she just went blank. Stared at the judge, stared at me, stared at her boss, stared at her papers and then kinda came back to Earth. I was thinking,"The judge is going to have me executed." :) All of a sudden, I'm wondering how she's doin' now.
