Today, I had my teacher look over my essay before turning it in. He said it was extremely well-written, so I handed it in. When I got it back, the feedback he left said it was one of the worst essays he'd ever read. FML

Talk to him and see if maybe you can get the grade changed or something. That's not fair at all

More likeley than not, the teacher chose the subject.

This is where I'd usually ask for written feedback which is signed and dated. I know it's a bit late now bit for future reference. I've recently forgotten to do it and it's came back and bit me in the arse. Talk to the teacher and see what they say and if they remember the conversation!

Maybe the well-written statement was referring to your handwriting and not the content? But regardless, the statement is misleading and you should talk to him and see if you could get your grade changed.

maybe your teacher gave the essays to someone else for remarks..

Difference between well written and being a good essay.. Though I don't know the circumstances for how great of an essay you wrote.

Well the formatting could have been good but the writing poor...didn't agree with jt

Teacher probably did a quick look just to make sure it was following the assignment requirements. That is different though from reading and grading it on the topic. A lot teachers will give essays a quick look, and check basics.
