Today, I had my teacher look over my essay before turning it in. He said it was extremely well-written, so I handed it in. When I got it back, the feedback he left said it was one of the worst essays he'd ever read. FML

Talk to him and see if maybe you can get the grade changed or something. That's not fair at all

I hope he was having a horrible day, or something.. At least then he'd have a semi-acceptable excuse for being such a dick.

what was the score u got on it ? and what was it about ?

He would probably retort "You attended the class."

If your in college you shouldn't have your teacher look over it, their job is to grade and teach not correct your work before you hand it in. Just saying, I had college professors the that would dock points for the student asking such things.

Agreed students expect way too much. Outside of a one professor that knew me personally(academic advisor) most would make sure you follow the basics and understand the assignment. Though everything else is left up to you. It isn't up to your professor to change your grade if your writing was bad or you felt mislead. They aren't writing it for you they can only give you general direction to make sure you meet basic requirements and see if you understand it.

I use to check if my teachers were even paying attention so I'd ramble on of stories like Hitler loved Blueberry Muffins and how Jesus loves breaking the law. It was amazing how many I got it by until one teacher noticed.

I'd say this is likely a case of the Teacher/Professor slacking off and letting a TA do the grading. I saw this a lot in college and if i knew the teacher had a TA, if i felt dissatisfied with a grade i'd take it to the Teacher and ask that they look it over personally and THEN give me a grade. I once got a D because the TA's only knowledge on my particular topic was heresay, and after the paper was re-evaluated i got a B-.
