Today, I had my teacher look over my essay before turning it in. He said it was extremely well-written, so I handed it in. When I got it back, the feedback he left said it was one of the worst essays he'd ever read. FML

Today, after turning in a paper that I worked really hard on, I got it back with a grade of 0. In the feedback section, my professor wrote: “In all my 37 years of teaching, this is by far the worst essay I have ever read.” FML

Today, the feedback my teacher wrote on my English assignment was so horrible that it took me half an hour and help from both my parents to decipher it. It turned out to be a scathing criticism of my "poor communication skills". I hate my teachers. FML

Today, I got a writing assignment back. After meeting with my professor specially after class and meticulously combing through every word of that paper, I got a low D. Turns out, he graded me down on every suggestion of his that I took. FML

Today, I got feedback on an essay I wrote, by my mum who is also a teacher. She said it was 'worse than most of her pupils'. She teaches 10-year-olds. I'm a 20-year-old student at university. FML

I'd definitely speak to the teacher. Either he didn't spend enough time checking it over before, or he didn't care to. If he only looked over a part or a thesis though, that might be different. Go get a proper explanation though! Just sucks :(

It's not a teacher's job to 'like' it. Grading an essay should be an impartial task, not swayed by the teacher's personal feelings or opinions on the subject of the essay or the teacher's feelings/opinions towards the student who wrote the essay. Liking or disliking something should be irrelevant.
