Today, I had to explain to my sister why it's unhygienic, socially unacceptable and downright inappropriate to apply Thrush ointment in the lounge room. I realised I wasn't getting through to her when she called me ''Uptight,'' ''Victorian" and ''Prudish'' to name a few. FML

That's gross, how could she not know that?

To all those asking: thrush is a yeast infection and I'm assuming by "thrush ointment" OP means an ointment used in the treatment of thrush... puke.

Correction: I meant thrush is a yeast infection of the mouth, not a term for yeast infections in general, though I suppose sometimes it is used as such.

I'm assuming OPs sister had thrush on her 'private part' as OP was trying to explain to her how inappropriate it is to be applying the ointment on in public or as it says in the living room or something. I don't think this fml would have been posted if it was oral thrush.

Yeah, it was too late to edit once I thought about it. In my experience, thrush is typically only used in reference to oral yeast infections (which if you ask me, are just as disgusting as vaginal, though not in public ointment application), but I guess it's used more widely than that.

Yeah I had babies that would get thrush...it just a mouth yeast infection

Moms who breastfeed will get thrush on their nipples. Oral thrush is treated with a liquid. Therefore, she almost certainly whipped her **** out lol.

I'm not sure if my first post went through or not. I'm assuming the "Thrush Ointment" is for Thrush of the breasts from breast feeding. Thrush is a yeast infection of the mouth that can be transfered to the breasts from a baby. If it was in her mouth she would be using a mouth wash. Unless OP says "Thrush" when meaning "yeast infection" then she could very well have been putting cream on her ****** in front of everyone! -shudders-

the OP is from Australia. Thrush in Australia refers to a yeast infection of the ******, in which a 'thrush ointment' is applied to the affected area. Ew at her sister for being a dirty weirdo for applying thrush cream in the lounge room, that's something that's definately done in the bathroom. so FHL for being related to THAT!

yes I was wondering y no one had thought that OP might be talking about vaginal thrush rather than oral.

I looked up thrush and could only find that it was a yeast infection of the mouth. Big deal! Who cares? Now, if we're talking vaginal yeast infection, *bow chicka bow bow*, now we're in business! Was she arching her back and moaning as she sensuously applied the ointment to the infected area? Shaven or did she leave "landing strip?" Was she wearing high heels? The advanced vocabulary is extra boner-producing to the nerd crowd! Go on ya, sheila, for pulling out "Victorian" in the middle of a tirade!

first! what is the stuff she was putting on?
