That's ok some teachers are crazy. In high school I once had a Spanish teacher who claimed that the bell that rings to go to class is different in Spanish. Doesn't a bell sound the same in all languages? Just make sure to pass the class so you never have to go back after.

Well, actually different languages have different words for onomatopoeias. For example, "om nom nom" in English is "miam miam" in French, and "haha" in English is "jaja" in Spanish. Assuming that's what she meant. :P

No we had this exchange student from Mexico,she had already been there a month we were both "late" and she sent me to detention and let the other student stay because she claimed the bell makes a different sound in Spanish so she couldn't understand it. I get that when you pronounce it or spell it out in a different language that it may not be the same but.... a bell,is a bell,is a bell ,no matter what country! Dogs in Mexico don't bark with an accent so why would a bell sound different? She was a crazy teacher, she claimed she was related to Enrique Iglesias because they both had the same mole. Either way op should try to get out of that class ASAP

Good for you! I had an advanced class jr high teacher who gave my friend a B for the trimester in math class because my friend corrected her on a very simple problem. Her tests and assignments would have gotten her a solid A. Fortunately, her mother complained and it was corrected. Many teachers are idiots. I will homeschool my children.
