Today, I had to get an ultrasound, which required me to drink 3 glasses of water beforehand. The doctor said I had too much and told me to go pee out just a little and come back. It took a lot of effort to hold the rest in. The first thing she did when I got back was press on my abdomen. I peed myself. FML

incase you didn't know, it's really hard to hold it when your pregnant...hence the whole ULTRASOUND part.

lol of that happened to me I would blame it on the bitch who pressed it.

Everyone knows you can't pee just a little. I think she knew you would pee yourself. Probably had bets to see how long you would last. btw fyl.

If she pressed on your abdomen, I think she probably had a clue that this was going to happen. Probably happens a few times a day in that office.

1. It was most likely not a doctor, but a sonographer. There is a whole job built around ultrasound, and with the amount of ultrasounds done I don't know why it is so hard to call people by the right title. 2. It may not have been a pregnancy scan. You need a full bladder for a scan of your uterus etc. to help distinguish between structures. 3. There is such a thing as drinking too much water before a scan. If the bladder is too full it can compress other structures and make them harder to visualise.

wow. part 1 of this comment screams bitter. Most people don't care what a job title is... I don't really care that people call me a "tech" when I'm not. hey, at least they have the general idea right. But as for the rest... yup. I had ultrasounds when not pregnant and had too much to drink. The person was nice about it and showed me the difference in visibility! it was like going from looking through a straw to looking normally.

when you gotta go, you gotta go. how does she expect you to just squeeze a little out when you're so full of water? I blame her lol

It's not worth doing the scan if the bladder is over full. It's better for the patient to try to empty a little bit of water than have to get them to make an appointment for another day.

it's very hard to hold your bladder when you have a baby that is pushing on it and then the doctor does it. you all try that and see how good of bladder control you have.
