Today, I had to suffer through a two-hour long trivia game with my boyfriend's family. As if that wasn't annoying enough, my boyfriend caused the pair of us to lose by just a single point, because he answered "Quebec" to the question of "What is the capital city of France?" FML

You kinda sound like a bitch. It seems like you were determined to make this a bad time because it wasn't something you wanted to do, so you're searching for anything to complain about. Maybe your boyfriend doesn't really think Quebec is the capital of France and he just misspoke. Some people get really into games and blurt stuff out. Haven't you ever watched Family Feud before when people's minds go blank and they blurt out things that clearly don't work with the question? Lighten up a little bit and allow yourself to have some fun!

Yeah, there's pretty much this. It is a game, and everyone has brain fart moments. My boyfriend and I got to know each other playing Family Feud over an SNES emulator on the Internet. He got a sound thrashing from me - still does, at Family Feud, Pictionary - that might be because I'm an illustrator an he can't draw - and anything resembling Trivial Pursuit. He can totally whip my ass at chess, Scrabble, and most card games (I'm terrible at card games, unless they're really simple, I forget the rules). Also, Monopoly, because he knows my favourite strategy is to become the Slum Lord and he goes out of his way to sabotage me. Trivia games can lead to love, as long as you don't take them too seriously.

Are you serious? Why are you over analyzing this? It's pretty sad to think Quebec is the capital of France. Besides there's no telling whether OP posted this here laughing about it and finding it a silly mistake or whether she's a "bitch" like you said

Graduating doesn't depend on this fact alone, or else I'm sure way less people would have even a high school diploma.

Who says he graduated? He may not have. At my school, we only have to take a 9-week World Geography course. That's the only geography course required to graduate, and you take it in freshman year. It's highly likely that he graduated and forgot, or just had a brain fart at the time of playing.
