Today, I had to teach my 16-year-old brother how to use a toaster. He thought you just plug it in and wait for it to "pre-heat." FML

Just don't tell him to put a fork in it.

He might be defective. Return him to Walmart. Pretty sure they'll give you a refund

What's the problem? My toaster needs to preheat as well. Did he forget to turn it on?

You know what they say! All toasters make toast!

Well to the kids excuse, there are still small toasters like that. It obviously isn't magical... lol At least now he knows.

I'm sure he is just as smart as you, seeing as your name for yourself right now is, "whatarethis."

No, the vine is "what are those", not this.

well, he isn't wrong you know... some toasters & panini makers begin to heat up as soon as you plug 'em in

Thank you, I came here to comment that. toasted triangles, sandwich makers(the one that heats/toasts the sandwich), electric grills, some deep fryers, in my experience all start preheating the moment you plug them in! (and switch on the wall) so it isn't that strange, the ops sibling was probably distracted and or tired etc and brain cross referenced something else and this happened, like all the people who try push a pull door!

Sounds like your parents failed
