I assume you're a girl because you said "asked you out". It may suck now but trust me you'll be glad about 10 years from now you spent the night making money instead of spending it on an overpriced dress you'll never wear again.
So with your logic, marriage is out of the question as well?
39- Marriage, no. Weddings, yes.
I'm sure 99.9% of married couples are happy they spent their marriage day at the wedding, rather than going to work.
Marriage is weird. It was prig originally a religious thing and now it's a legal matter. Also how big does a boat have to be for it to be considered a ship, with a captain and what not.
I never went to a formal either! I wasn't at high school any more and my friends wanted me to go but honestly not one of those things that's bothered me at all! It sucks now for you but there are far more important things that are going to happen in your life and when you get to adult hood, trust me you're not going to cry yourself to sleep wishing you'd gone 10+ years earlier.
All that goes on at school formals is people trying to sneak in booze and excessive grinding. You did not miss out.
Calm down.
My prom sucked so hard, don't worry about it.
After prom? Don't those usually end late? Mine did-- around midnight. What kind of job would allow a teenager to work those late crazy hours? Overrated or not, prom is a milestone. I'm so happy I went. Dresses aren't that expressive. If you know where to shop, you can get a beautiful dress without spending a lot. Many of my friends didn't have dates so they all went to it in a huge group of just "friends". Girls all danced with each other. Don't depend on some guy to take charge of your life. If you wanted to go, there were ways to do it. Sorry you missed out. It could have been a great night, date or not.
This is what I was coming here to say. My ex and I broke up three days before my junior prom. A friend had asked me to go with him, because he knew my ex didn't want to go, and I'd turned him down because I didn't want to upset my boyfriend. By the time we broke up a week later (which was unrelated to my friend asking me to go), it was too late to get any date...everyone else had paired off, even the friend who had asked me. I went alone and had the best time. I hung out with friends, danced, and didn't care that I was dateless.
yeah, prom is lame. someone asked me if I would go, i said no. have you heard any adult talked about how much fun they had at the prom? i never have.
#23 Yes, I have. #22, directly above you on this thread.
I hate being a grammar/spelling nazi, but "rebuddle" just made my blood boil.
Why not go with just your friends than? You don't HAVE to have a date

Prom is lame anyway, why would you want to go? I mean, everyone knows all the cool kids don't go, right?
If you were that desperate to go, why didn't you ask somebody?
