you shouldn't have to worry about these things. high school won't matter later in life anyway. do what makes you happy and don't listen to other people. be proud that you are working and that you are a responsible young adult.

i know how that feels. I specifically asked for a shift at work on my prom night. Cause i knew i was gonna be in the same boat.
I really don't understand the big fuss about having to have a date for your prom (or senior formal for Australians). It's a celebration of the end of your compulsory schooling, not a massive group date. Go with friends or by yourself, you will end up spending the night with your friends anyway. Dates are just for photos and slow dancing.
