Today, I have a UTI. After taking some sample medicine my doctor gave to me, I had a lot of back pain and nausea. I also spent 6 hours in the ER with no health insurance because I thought I was urinating blood. Nope, "peeing red" is just a little side-effect my doctor forgot to inform me of. FML

You do realize that you're supposed to read the side effects part right ..... The doctor should assume that you have a brain and can read.

it's called the internet use it next time to research symptoms morpn

The antibiotic the doctor gave me for my UTI/kidney infection (Macrobid) states on the container and in the drug info "may cause discolouration of urine" YDI for not reading the instructions.

sue the doctor for misleading information you will win.

No, you won't, dumbass. Try taking some responsibility for YOURSELF, being proactive in your OWN healthcare and take 2 minutes to read the directions, ask your Dr beforehand or call after with concerns! Instead of jamming up the ER with your bullshit and making me pay for it! SO stupid/infuriating!!

I would save a jar for halloween. Of course that is just me. I have been looking for a real looking fake blood.

As long as they have medicines that turn your pee red/orange, they might as well make one for brown, that way you can have............... (drumroll please).............. Chocolate rain! (cue crickets)

Two words: small claims. Your doctor and/or pharmacist should be informing you of ANY and ALL side effects. It's negligence. What if the side effect had been drowsiness and you were driving?

THAT is why the healthcare in your country is so crap.

READ the directions/warnings, ask your doctor of possible side effects, call with concerns! Why would you try and blame others for you being an idiot?!! I really don't understand this logic! Shouldn't you be responsible for yourself and have some idea of what meds you're putting in your body?!?!

Sorry, but YDI for not contacting your doctor as soon as you noticed the adverse reactions. He'd have put you on a different drug.

Even if you were peeing blood, it's pretty normal for a UTI. Google is my friend.

anyone else notice that this has been an fml before?

thats why you read ALL of the side effects so you know what could happen. if you don't read them then you wont be prepared for what could happen, so you get what you get.... sorry
