Today, I heard my mom ask "Are you okay?" I opened my mouth to tell her about how I've been feeling suicidal lately. At that second, I realized she was talking to my cat. FML

I really feel bad for you dude. That sucks when you get depressed.

Seriously, if you've been feeling suicidal, get some help or talk to someone. Don't kill yourself.

FYL... Sometimes its really hard getting pissed from your boyfriend or girlfriend or best friend.. But its always harder when its a member of the family And You've lived with him/her all your life. Again FYL.

I've actually been down the same road. For a few weeks straight I felt like no one really gave a shit about what I said or did. My Mom seemed to be more interested in my younger brother, and the only time I had conversations with my friends, it seemed like all they wanted to talk about was the problems they were going through. So yes, I understand what you're going through. The feeling sucks, but if you push through it and talk to someone (I didn't, but you probably should...) then you'll feel a lot better. You'll realize that you still have a lot of stuff to do in life. Like you could travel and learn new things about cultures. Or you could meet and make new friends. Just gotta keep a good outlook on some things even if it's extremely difficult. Just make sure, no matter how depressed you are, that you won't kill yourself. It may seem like a good escape, but the rest of your family would be miserable because of it. They'd regret a lot of things they did, or didn't do.

bigmack95, please think before you speak. You automatically assume that because America is the supposed, "Land of Opportunity" that everything here is amazing and perfect. In case you hadn't noticed, almost the entirety of the world's economic system is kind of shot. Maybe you should read a newspaper or watch the news every now and again. And just to point it out, not all families are "perfect" as yours must be. You make it seem like the poster's family must be crap because they're depressed. In truth, it might not be their fault whatsoever. So shut your mouth and think things through before saying something as ignorant as that. Think of the different points of view next time.

Tehalon - It's not ALWAYS the people who talk about it who don't do it. And the OP hasn't talked about it. They posted it on a site where no one knows them to get things off their chest a bit. I didn't tell my friends of my depression for years after, but I told my online friends the whole way through. My online friends don't know me and it's nearly harmless. It's helpful, to know someone cares. And by the way, don't yell at us saying that we'll forget about the OP, don't make assumptions. There are people out there who care for people they don't even know. MonkeySpeaks - I agree with you, the issue is over exploited by over dramatic teens, but that doesn't mean you ignore the issue. I'd tell everyone that they're worth something a million times rather than ignoring everyone just because it is over-dramatized. As for the whole "your life doesn't suck" thing... No one said it had to. That's what makes it harder sometimes, when you can't explain why you feel that way. It just adds to the confusion.

GabriLee - I quote "are almost always" and "mostlikely". PS. Talking doesnt have to be in person or on the phone in my book, chatting online with people who are distant from you because they've never met you or only know you by nickname is the same thing in my book.

suicide is never the answer... You will definitely feel better eventually and it would only make the lives of everyone around you worse....

I'll bet everything would be better if you just killed your cat. You'd get more attention again, right...?
