Today, I heard on the news that the average debt one is in when they graduate college is $24,000. I've been in college for one year and my debt is already $20,000. And it turns out that my school's accreditation does not exist like I was told. $20,000 in debt and no college credits to show for it. FML

should have researched the college first

go to a different school asap. it's obvious accreditation means something to you or you wouldn't have mentioned it. Don't pay 20k a year for something that's not going to earn it back for you.

You fail for having a shirt that says 'no fat chicks.' I understand that Justin Beiber is more your type, but you look like a 12 year old tool.

So instead of doing your own research, you went by what you were "told" about the program's accreditation? That's just ignorant. Transfer. The reason people have an average $24,000 debt when they graduate college is because they WORK while they're in school.

Or earn enough scholarship money so that they can focus on classes. :)

Or their parents pay for school. When I was looking at universities, it came down to two schools for me. My first choice cost approximately $28k a year after scholarships, so I decided to go to my local university for approximately $6k a year, and have my parents pay for it (I'm no spoiled FYI, so please don't jump to conclusions. I'm extremely blessed my parents can afford to help me out.). Yay for being responsible and graduating debt free!

Yay for your parents being responsible and you graduating debt free*

That's what you get for going to one of those colleges that advertise on late night TV.

The first part of this FML seems a little irrelevant to the actual FML. Anyway, FYL op. Unless you didn't do any research at all, then YDI. I'll be paying more than $80k for my schooling and you can bet that I've done a lot of research on my school's accreditation. Seems like common sense.

you mean daddy's paying? mortal kombat *Fight!*

57, not everybody who goes to a good school makes daddy pay for them.

wow get a life don't post it online thts not a story for fml. no1 wants to hear that it's so boring it's your fault for not researching the collage. nobody cares wat u have to prove it. does it look like were in your collage tough stuff again were not in your collage YTD ppl!!

What in the sam hell did you just say? I think you need to stay as far away from "collage" as possible. You will only drag the rest of us down.

FFML_314, I don't mean to make an enemy out of you, because I admire your work, but I find it only fair to let you know that the say is "What in Sam Hill" not hell.

FFML_314 is the local grammar nazi here, I don't think she appreciates being told she's wrong.

I have to respectfully disagree, Pedantik. The expression is 'What in the Sam Hill...?', not Sam Hell. #39 was right.

The original expression may be, "What in the sam hill" but either works. No one around here says "What in the sam hill." Both are accepted.

Well, in my time I have never heard "hell" put on the end but perhaps it is only in certain areas that it goes both ways.

That sucks, OP. When I went to my community college, I didn't expect to have to move out of state. None of my credits will transfer to the local technical college where I will be taking EMT and Paramedic courses. Hipe you can get things resolved and then transfer to a school that is accredited. Good luck!

LOL 35! I was gonna say the same thing, but trolling isn't my forte. Go you!

oh well... that means no 4,000 for you!!! what a bummer!!
