Today, I introduced my dad, who is a surgeon, to the TV show 'House, M.D.' I thought it'd be a good bonding experience. How wrong I was. He spent the whole time yelling about the "insane" medical inaccuracies, then lectured me about my crappy taste in TV. FML

******* "House". I can't watch that goddamned show. Doctors don't do their own pathology, give medicines, start IVs, take X-rays, do angiograms, or run the MRI. $@!% &*#%* £$!@ "#+*!

Hey! House is a good show... no matter how outrageous.

any real life occupation can be considered good, if written and acted out by people who have no basis of said occupation, and not to mention glamorous to the majority of the population. take a look at films about the military....... I served 8 years and the majority of military films are completely inaccurate.

As a teacher, I didn't find any inaccuracies. Except that I don't own a good pair of tighty whities.

Medical bloopers aside, Hugh Laurie is a pretty man... watch and enjoy for that reason alone.

Both of my parents are physicians and one of their favorite shows was Scrubs.

Medical shows are notorious for crazy amounts of inaccuracies. I remember dating a pre-med who hated all the inaccuracies in the show E.R.

you and me both sir, my ex hated house and e.r. due to the fictional writing.

Most medical professionals hate medical shows for that reason. It's almost impossible to make a medical show 100% accurate, simply because of the way shows are filmed.

It's never lupus, except for that one time it was finally lupus.

I loved that scene, where he hid his vic stash in the lupus book. "it's never lupus"

That'd be similar to watching "The Core" with a physicist without trying to intentionally make him laugh about it. Or watching any volcano-related catastrophy flick with a geologist/someone who knows how lava works... since most movies try to create excitement and completely ignore the fact that an 85 year old can outrun lava as long as it's not flowing down a 30° decline.
