Today, I learned my boyfriend has another girlfriend. His excuse is he's bipolar and each of his personalities needs a girlfriend. FML

But the point is, they are both still Jake. Just two sides of the same coin. If it was someone with DID, then there wouldbe Jake, Ben, Vlad, Mary, etc. Depends on how many personalities there are. The OP's bf (hopefully ex) is an idiot. Period.

Thats such crap. I have bipolar disorder. Bipolar has nothing at all to do with multiple personalities. Its bad mood swings cause you don't have the right chemical in your brain to control that and in some extreme cases hallucinations. Thats borderline personality disorder. I think. No hate mail because I don't know anything about any other disorder. But bipolar isn't about more than one person its about a whole hell of alot of emotions

Bipolar Disorder is just Manic Depression. Dissociative Personality Disorder aka Multiple Personality Disorder is the real mental condition of multiple personalities, often mistaken as Schizophrenia.

bipolars don't have multiple personalities. that's multiple personality disorder. bipolar is just basically extreme mood swings. that guy needs to be dumped asap.
