Today, I learned that I cannot cook or clean in my kitchen because it's too noisy for my neighbour. Every time I do, she bangs on the wall. FML

I had a neighbour like that always banged up even during the day I got so pissed off I ended up just lifting up the couch at one end and dropping it everytime she banged up, she soon stopped must have sounded like the ceiling was going to fall in ??

Take the complaint to your land lord and tell him that she is banging on the wall while you try to use the living space that you are paying him for. Make sure to point out how loudly(and thus hard) she is hitting the wall, and that you are worried she is going to punch through to your side of the wall. Maybe even record the sound as she hits the wall. Your landlord will probably give her a warning about risking damage to his property. If that doesn't work, try looking into the sheets of sound dampening material and put them on your kitchen wall. Try giving her good quality earplugs, or if her bitching is about not hearing her music/TV, get a cheap set of wireless headphones for her. Or ignore her slamming on the wall until she hurts herself, damages the wall, or both. You're paying for the ENTIRE apartment, OP. That means you have the right to use the ENTIRE apartment, not just the parts that your neighbor can't hear you in. Unless you are being exceedingly noisy, she shouldn't have a leg to stand on if she makes noise complaints because her hitting the wall sounds like it is more disruptive than your cooking.
