Today, I learned that not only am I pregnant, I'm too far along for an abortion. My husband and I originally bonded over the fact that we both hate children. FML

Adoption. Then get yourselves fixed so you don't have another accident.

I might be nitpicking but it's kinda sad to see people refer to a baby as it lol

or as fetus (pro-life here) life at conception he or she is a baby not it or a fetus

what I wonder.. How did you not notice earlier?

My mum didn't realize she was pregnant with me until she was five months along. She always had very light periods and it wasn't unusual for her to miss a month or two, and she didn't exhibit the typical pregnancy symptoms like morning sickness, so she had no reason to suspect.

And that's why my husband got a vasectomy and I switched to an IUD for birth control, in order to prevent any accidents. That sucks, but you could have planned better. At least look on the bright side, I hear they pay good money for babies in the adoption market.

This is literally my worst nightmare. I know here in the UK you can get an abortion later than 24 weeks if continuing the pregnancy would affect your mental or physical health (comforting to know for if I'm ever in this situation, I'd go crazy), but unfortunately I'm not sure on the US laws. Someone else mentioned a state where you can get late abortions, well worth looking in to. I wish OP well in whatever she chooses to do. Also, I'm getting a pregnancy test tomorrow, the though of this happening to anyone has convinced me it's also happening to me :p thanks anxiety.

I suggest putting the kid up for adoption. Better than killed right? I mean I wouldn't know about the whole how bad pregnancy can be debate. But in the end it's your choice. Good luck.

that poor child. sure hope you consider adoption.

It is highly unlikely that this was not preventable or detectable much earlier.

Not really. Plenty of women don't have the hormone levels necessary to show up on a pregnancy test, not everyone gets morning sickness etc. and depending on fitness level it could be anywhere from 4-6 months along before showing. No birth control is 100%, not even when doubling up. Odds are good but some people have shit luck.

I'm seriously surprised FML hasn't shut down the comments on this post

I had a 6 mth old baby, was on birth control and my husband used a condom. I didn't know I was pregnant again until I was 15 was along. I wasn't ready for another baby nor did I want another one but I had her and showed no signs at all that I was pregnant throughout my pregnancy. No method is 100% but you do have options besides abortion Op. please look into them instead of raising an unwanted kid
