Today, I learned that when the power goes out at my house, my family thinks you can no longer flush the toilet. FML

depend if your using cuty or well water cause well water uses the electricity of your house for the water when my power goes out you get one flush gotta love well water

Just FYI I've lived way the **** out in the middle of nowhere before and our water came from a well. The pump to the well ran by electricity. Therefore, when the electric was off, you could not flush the toilet and have it refill with water more than once, take a shower, etc. Just so everyone knows some people actually CAN'T flush the toilet when the electric is out. It's true.

I have well water, and after one flush the water runs out and the pump doesn't work without electricity, so you really can't. Maybe they're used to something like that.

U can only flush once coz the toilet needs elec to refill

You can flush it once but with no electric the water pump won't run.unless you live in a big city and the main pump house has power
