I am not sure why your mother chooses to hide the chocolate in the first place. My mom is horrible with gifts, so we have always known what we were getting for any holiday. She also has a special trunk where she locks the smaller/valuable things, like halloween treats, because my sister had a horrible eating disorder when we were kids and would gorge herself on anything remotely sweet.
For safety-- Should always double check that it's empty. I don't know anyone that doesn't use their oven to store items like pot and pans etc...
I don't! *shakes hand* Nice to meet you.
On the contrary, I've never met anyone who stores their pots and pans in the oven. Isn't that what cupboards and drawers are for?
There's absolutely nothing in your oven? I don't believe you! :P
Personally, cabinets are for storing things that I "don't" use everyday. I always stock things larger to smaller on top, so it'll be a hassle to get my larger skillet every time I want to make breakfast.
I use the oven pretty much every day to make dinner, it'd be more of a hassle for me to have to take things out first! Plus I have lots of cupboard space so don't need to store anything in the oven :)
that's why you eat the chocolate so this will never happen
I honestly would never have guessed there lol!!

Time to find a new place...but now you know for future reference...maybe she will try again...
Well I agree that is a terrible hiding place (does no one ever cook or does she just re hide them after dinner?), I think that a little bit of this is YDI. First thing I ever learned in Foods class was ALWAYS check inside before turning on the oven..
or you can, you know, not store shit in the friggin oven. I have never in my life checked my oven before using it, I don't have to because I don't store random things in the oven, and I don't allow anything flammable to be placed on top of the stove either.

My special hiding spot is in my stomach. No one ever finds my chocolate.
