Today, I left for a one and a half month trip to Japan with my boyfriend. He promptly broke up with me the first night in the hotel. When asked why he couldn't have waited until the trip was over, he said he didn't want to create "false memories". FML

Wow...your boyfriend is an asshole... You should be glad he left you so you don't have to live with a guy who hid the fact he was unhappy like that until it was during an important event. Throw yourself entirely into the vacation, and use it to forget his loser-ass. Try and find a hostile (or kick him out of your hotel room) to stay away from him. Make him be alone.

I agree with one of the previous posters. Cancel his accommodations, and his plane ticket, so he can find his own way home after being an asshole. Hope he learned Japanese, cause he'll need it to find home again.
