Today, I'm on vacation. I spent $4000 to surprise my boyfriend on a trip to Hawaii. We have been together over a year. Turns out, he hates the outdoors. He's mad at me for bringing him here and is upset at everything. He's in the room reading, I'm at the bar drinking $10 Mai Tai's. FML

You've been together over a year and you didn't know that he hates the outdoors? I gotta say YDI.

He seems like a jerk...any normal person would at least try to enjoy themselves when the significant other put in that much effort. Sorry, that sucks! On the upside you are in Hawaii!

dump the guy he sounds like huge douche. he could at least pretend to enjoy it or you can just give me the tickets next time and i'll.

Hates the outdoors? Are you CAMPING ON THE BEACH?? No, at $4K -- I'm assuming you're staying at a decent place. It's not exactly "roughing" it (esp. if your on Oahu -- let's face it, Honolulu is basically LA with better beaches). Your BF needs to either man up and have a good time or take the next plane back to the mainland so that you can at least have a good time (wink wink)!!!

if this is true **** him literally

What a douche. You should bring home some man-hoe and **** right in front of him.

What an assfuck. Some people have no sense of...anything.

If he can't appreciate the fact that you went out of your way for a vacation like THAT, then I think it's time to go shopping for a new boyfriend.

I'd kind of be upset if my girlfriend of over a year took me on a vacation to Hawaii when she should have known that I hate the outdoors. And it's totally possible to hate beaches and things-ugh, sand gets everywhere, the water is salty and hard to swim in, the sun is hot-and the only other things to do are shopping and sightseeing. There's a couple of really cool sightseeing places though, you could research a few and take him there. And I dunno, I think you guys should talk it out-if you apologize for not knowing his tastes, he should apologize for being such a baby about the vacation. If not, you should just enjoy the vacation w/ out him and let him suffer. :D Have fun.

Dump him and find a fun boyfriend who's not a diva.

I would say it's both....It's messed up that you spent so much on him, but you should have had an idea of what he likes. I say, make the best of the vacation and do plenty of indoor activities.
