Today, I'm still not living in the house I fought so hard to buy three months ago. As I was fixing a hole in the wall, I found black mold covering the back side of my drywall. On every wall. I can't afford to fix it. FML

Sorry to hear your house burned down. Hope you can get a nice replacement with the insurance money. Oh, it hasn't happened yet? Shhhhhhh!

Did you not have it inspected before you bought it? If not, you deserve it.

Everyone here is right - there are a couple of ways around it. Get some legal advice.

atleast you do not have cockroaches.

Cockroaches are significantly easier to take care of than mold. Some molds require the EPA/DEP to demolish the home and everything in it. There's a reason even the Bible includes a few paragraphs on what to do in the case of black mold - it is an insidious problem that is extremely hard to take care of.

Should have sprung for that home inspection.

Did you not preform an inspection before buying? That's part of your responsibility before buying.

not all mold that is black is the dangerous black mold. make sure that's what it is before you over react.

Talk to your realtor. If they didn't list it on disclosure you can go back against them for the repair costs.

Legal advice: you can terminate the transactions between you and the real estate office if they did not mention crucial elements of the house (such as mold) if it disadvantages you. Take it to court ;)
