Are you a titan by any chance?
Don't worry about it, some people just want some privacy, or maybe they have a dog or a little kid and want them to be able to play in the yard safely, it doesn't necessarily mean they put it up because of you. You're on here so I'm sure you're a lovely person :)
Fences are great if you have young children, pets or gardens. This way you don't clean up dog mess that isn't yours or have children running through your garden. I wish we could afford a fence since we have neighbors that throw trash all over their yard that magically ends up in my yard all the time.
Maybe they just like to have fences? because it can protect against dogs, and makes you feel safer.
Probably voting for Trump
I wouldn't take that personally. They could have kids or dogs or just like their privacy.
So? My next door neighbour moved in a few months ago and the first thing he did was build a fence because his two year old dog is a jumper. I'm 1,72m (5 feet 7.2 inches) and, even though he's not a big dog, he can jump as high as my chest height. So, and seeing as we have a balcony (apartment) with no more than a meter (3 feet) high wall, and a potential 10m (32feet) fall, building a fence makes perfect sense. I doesn't mean the neighbours want nothing to do with you. You won't know that unless you talk to them.
That's some fast building.
It's a fence? When our new neighbors moved in they tore down the original one in their front yard, had a bunch of new supplies brought and that sat out in their yard for 1 1/2 months before they finally put up their fence all the way. Personally, I'd love a fully fenced yard. But I have kids, one of which is 2 1/2 and likes to try and run into the street. *sigh*
It might not have been you. They could have built the fence for their kids, animals or if they were planning to get a pool

Don't worry, at least it's not possible for them to make you pay for it.
Depending on how long they've been your neighbors, couldn't it just be a coincidence?
