Today, I needed to borrow money from my girlfriend. I went into her bag and pulled out the money all while a lady watched me open-mouthed. Turns out it wasn't my girlfriend's bag. It belonged to the lady watching me. FML

Today, I needed money to go to the movie. I asked my mom if I could reach in her purse and grab a few bucks. When I opened up her purse her phone started to vibrate. I yelled over to my mom that her phone was ringing. She said the phone was next to her. I looked in the purse. It was a vibrator. FML

Today, at work, an old lady came through my line to buy some groceries. She told me she lost her purse and was a little short. It was busy, so I pulled out my little purse and gave her the money she needed. A few minutes later she returned with my boss, insisting that my purse was hers. FML

I'm not sure if it's just the wording of this, but it sounds like the OP didn't ask their girlfriend for the money, in which case YDI. If it is just the wording, then FYL, and sorry for assuming anything else.

"borrow money from your girlfriend" meaning steal and mayyybe pay back. YDI, you shouldn't have been going through your girlfriends purse in the first place without her there, and especially not in public around women with similar bags. I hope that lady hit you for trying to rob her.

One time at school, two of my friends(both male) went through my purse(I still have no idea why!) They were acting all awkward and were red-faced when I came back to my chair, and refused to tell me for days what had happened. Turns out they found a tampon lol. They never apologized for going through my stuff because they were so embarrassed to bring it up or even think about it. TL;DR search at your own risk, you never know what you'll find or how she'll react.
