Today, I needed to borrow money from my girlfriend. I went into her bag and pulled out the money all while a lady watched me open-mouthed. Turns out it wasn't my girlfriend's bag. It belonged to the lady watching me. FML

I'm not sure if it's just the wording of this, but it sounds like the OP didn't ask their girlfriend for the money, in which case YDI. If it is just the wording, then FYL, and sorry for assuming anything else.

That's really stupid... Even if it was your girlfriends bag, you should ask anyone if you are borrowing money.

My fiancé does not go through my purse without me telling him it's ok. Hell, my parents have been married for more than 30 years and my dad won't even go through my mom's purse. Tsk tsk

Honest mistake I'm sure. Just have to tell the owner it was an honest mistake and ask your girlfriend next time.

You are way to comfortable "borrowing" money, if you cared about your gf you'd ask her first anyways

haha you needed to borrow money from your girl friend.

Clearly they are in a relationship.. She said borrow from my girlfriend

Another thing.. It's just a bag in my opinion, if she says go in it or clearly it's ok go in? What's the big deal... Most people are mature enough to go through a bag ffs

It doesn't sound like he asked, though. Usually if you ask to borrow something, they'll give it to you instead of leaving you to take it. If he just goes rifling through her purse it sounds like he's just taking her money and calling it "borrowing."

I've been married longer than most of you have been alive, almost 30 yrs & my hubby has never gone into my purse likewise I've never gone into his wallet!

Who leaves their bag laying around like that in a public area...?
