Today, I offered my friend $150 to drop my girl and me off for at the airport. He's poor, so I try to help him out by paying for rides. My girl being with me, I asked him not to smoke weed while driving. He turned down the job because he needs a minimum of two blunts for the trip. FML

You are a good person but I don't think your friend would use the money very wisely...

He should not be driving high, it is extremely dangerous. The only way I got a friend to stop was by threatening to call the police if I knew he was doing it. It sounds harsh but they could kill someone or themselves, you wouldn't let a friend drive drunk would you?

Tell your friend to grab a magnet and sprinkle some weed in a bowl of water. You can use the magnet to move the bud like it was made of metal. Marijuana these days is bogus and full of chemicals/metals, possibly nano-technology. See if he still wants to smoke it knowing there's a visible reason the government suddenly doesn't mind it being legal here and there.

You saved him then really. Smoking weed and driving is pretty dangerous, people die from it

Does he really need the weed though? He makes the choice every time he buys weed. Weed isn't cheap. If I were you, I wouldn't fund his drug habit.

I can't believe you'd get in the car with him in the first place whether your girlfriend was with you or not. My husband is in law enforcement (but is not against weed) and he's seen his fair share of the consequences of driving while under the influence. It's a legal substance here, but it's no different than driving under the influence of alcohol. It's got it's own rules and standards to fit the substance, but the result is still a DUI. If he "lights up before and after" how is that different from someone getting drunk before getting in the car? Dear god, I sound like a prude. I swear, I'm not. I love my alcohol and drinking is usually my idea, but I cannot stand the thought of someone altering their judgement with drugs or alcohol then getting on the road where they put themselves and others in very real danger. I think people forget that cars are as dangerous as they are. When we get on the road, all that keeps us in order is some painted lines of various colors on the ground. We put a lot of trust in the other drivers around us to follow the rules. All it takes is one driver not following the rules (in this case, an intoxicated driver) for someone to be seriously hurt or killed. My husband and I have already lost one friend to a drunk driver. We'd rather not lose any more, but the risk is always there as long as people are getting behind the wheel when they shouldn't be.

You don't have to be a prude to not approve of people driving while intoxicated, whether it be weed or alcohol or any other drug <3

Totally don't sound like a pude. Just sound like someone with a brain.

OP. Stop giving them money and being an enabler.
