Today, I overheard my mum tell my sister that she should make me a bridesmaid at her wedding. My sister scoffed, "She looks like Shamu, mum. I can't have THAT in my wedding pics." followed by laughter and my mum saying, "Touché." FML

Today, I’m supposed to be a bridesmaid at my sister's wedding, but she doesn’t want me in the photos because I’m over a foot taller than her and the other bridesmaids, and it will look silly in the photos. I told her I won’t even bother attending, and mom actually took her side. FML

Today, my sister backed out of my wedding because it was becoming too much about me. After I begged her to reconsider, I had no choice but to pick a new bridesmaid. When my new bridesmaid posted on Facebook how excited she was, my sister commented, "See, you made HER feel special." FML

Today, my mother thought it would be a wonderful idea to make me late for me own wedding. It wouldn't be so bad if she hadn't focused solely on my sister because my wedding didn't center on her. I had a similar experience except it was my sister in law. She invited me to be in the wedding party and was supposed to pick me up to go dress shopping and never showed. Then calls that evening and said they went without me because they didn't think any of the dresses would fit me. I was a size 10. Talk about a slap in the face. That was 22 years ago but stuff that hurtful is hard to forget. I feel your pain OP.

I was told to lose weight before getting married to the a guy, I just looked at him and asked, why. His answer was for once you should look good in a picture. I did lose weight, well I dumped him so that shed a few pounds there and then, since he wasnt marring me really. Your family sound horrible, the wedding should be about family, not who is the most stunning or starved person. I hope you get your courage up and tell your sister and mum, that you is a great person, worth more then their shallow remarks and no you do not want to attend the wedding or send a gift. And to any who ask, just say they said you werent pretty enough to be part of the wedding.
