Today, I planned on introducing my fiancé to my parents. After the introductions, and telling him how I hoped our relationship would have the same amount of love and commitment that has lasted my mother and father for 25 years, my parents awkwardly announced their imminent divorce. FML

Today, my husband and I came clean to his overbearing parents about our private wedding. It started with them accusing him of making rash decisions, and somehow descended into an argument amongst themselves that ended with his mom deciding to divorce his dad. FML

Today, my parents met my fiancée's parents for the first time in a large family gathering two weeks before our formal wedding. Both sets of parents were telling funny stories about our pasts. My dad's story won. He told how I spent a week in jail earlier this year. FML

Today, I introduced my girlfriend to my dad. I thought it was a good idea at the time, at least until he took her aside for a private chat. During the chat, he told her all about my two previous marriages and advised her to "get out while you can". FML

Today, wanting to break up with my boyfriend, I invited him to dinner with my parents. I was sure they'd hate him, which would give me the excuse I needed. They ended up loving him, and now they won't stop mentioning marriage. FML

Today, after dating for almost a year, I decided to introduce my parents to the man I was sure I'd fallen in love with. When dad saw him, his and my boyfriend's face completely dropped. I asked them what was wrong because I could feel the discomfort. Turns out, I'm dating my dad's drug dealer. FML

I have a sneaking suspicion that if you had posted first, your comment would have involved something regarding erotic nipple tweaking. What the hell did you think you had to gain by being first? Are you that much of an attention ***** that you need your useless comment to be seen by everyone? Obviously you had nothing of interest to say, since the entirety of your comment was complaining that you couldn't post. If you really are in such desperate need of attention, may I suggest heading straight to your local mall, taking off all your clothes, and jumping around in one of the fountains. I agree. Putting out that much pressure and making a dramatic speech on top of an already-stressful moment (meeting the future in-laws) was a bad idea. Sorry your parents are getting divorced, though. That is tough.

My parents were never married. I'm a teen pregnancy baby. So I don't know what you're going through but things will work out in the end...2 sets of christmas gifts for the kids you'll have (positive thing)
