I use high school chemistry all the time. Well, technically it started in grade school science, but if I hadn't memorized a bunch of the symbols for different elements on the periodic table, it sure would suck to try and read the doctor's progress notes. Im assuming the nurses should probably have to know them, too, if they are going to administer the correct substances. I wasn't a science major OR a culinary arts major. Mine was actually Health Information. Also, you aren't even IN the real world yet. How the hell would you know whether or not Chemistry is something you will use? Then again, all 17 year olds know everything, right?
Sorry, but you were obviously doing something you weren't supposed to be doing in chemistry class, and you were caught. If you didn't want it to happen, you should've waited until later. Or better yet, you should not have even bothered to come to class! That's what I hated about high school. There were a ton of people doing other distracting things rather than paying attention, and they obviously didn't want to be there. They bothered the teacher and they bothered the ones who were actually trying to pay attention. At least in college those types of people either skip class or get kicked out by the professor, so we don't have to deal with them. :)
maybe it's god telling you to pay attention and take notes!!
Wtf hahaha!!!!!!!!!
I learned chemical changes in gr. 7 o_O
.... So write it again? It came from your brain didn't it?
YDI for a) Writing lyrics during class instead of paying attention b) Not having a Pulse smartpen.

I am a teacher. Even if a student is not paying attention in class, I would never take their piece of paper away and set it on fire. Tell them to put it away, yes. Confiscate it for the rest of the period, yes. But destroying something of a student's is completely disrespectful. Some might argue that it's disrespectful to do other work during class, and I'd agree. However, the teacher shouldn't have taken that harsh of a measure to discipline him. Being a teacher doesn't give you license to be a bitch.
At least your band has chemistry?
