I'm on the fence a little. Without sounding too superficial (I know that ship has sailed) I would feel that after 5 years of dating, her BF would attempt to get her something that she could proudly wear. It is usually something that will be on her finger for years to come, if not always. It might not have to be expensive but at least her style. Ex: I hate gold anything so if that was what I was given? I'd be disappointed and think the BF wasn't paying attention but having a hissy fix is uncalled for. There's no question there.
how about you give her a hint and leave.
wow she sounds not very nice .
I can't imagine how hurtful that was :( I am so sorry OP, I hope your girlfriend realizes that love matters more than her "dream ring". Or that she fixes her attitude.
She doesn't sound worthy of marriage.
What an ungrateful bitch
Materialistic little **** isn't she?

I hope you'll reconsider the proposal OP.
what a b***h for not respecting the moment and ruining it just because she didn't get exactly what she wanted at least you see her true colors now
