Today, I ran into an old student of mine at the grocery store. She didn't recognize me at first so I introduced myself as her old teacher. She looked taken aback for a moment, and then said, "Oh my God... you're still alive?" FML

Awwh. That's not very nice to say out loud. I mean, she probably meant to just think it. how the **** do those people justify clicking YDI? "YDI cause you're still alive" or "YDI for buying things" ?! Some people are just assholes.

Obviously because people think that being totally cruel to others is funny, so they say its your fault for some ridiculous reason. Like 'YDI for breathing'

uhh, no. more like "ydi for approaching them in the first place." "ydi for not having enough sense to realize almost all students hate their teachers, and never want to see them again."

We have a teacher at our school who is 70 something years old. We never expected him to die though. We think he's fun to mess with cuz he has bad hearing.

This is not am fml. This is an old joke. Lame.

This is not am fml. This is an old joke. I heard this story on a video once, told by a retired teacher. I had to watch it in class last semester. Lame!

You're probably too old to be on the fml site

I agree with #2. Mine are worse and still doesn't get publshed. and this is not an FML. She probably just heard of a name simulate to yours, that had died.

i wonder why...? could it be because it's published and not publshed? and similar, not simulate? and the correct form is don't. one doesn't, you used are, so you mean multiple. multiple don't.

Well, it's easy for a kid to think of their teachers as horrendously old, and forget they're relatively young (if that's the case). I'm in my early 40s and when I visit the hometown I sometimes see my first-grade teacher, looking only a bit older than when she taught me, and I always think, "She's still ALIVE????" Then I have to remember that she wasn't all that old when I was in her class....

I have teachers that I respect and there are those that I don't. You earn respect and not by just being a teacher but being a great person.
