Today, I ran over a squirrel. I saw it twitching, so I backed over it to end its suffering. It wasn't a squirrel; it was a kitten. The children it belonged to watched as I ran over their kitten. Twice. FML

you did the right thing. even though the kids are ****** up it's better to not let the kitten suffer. RIP KITTY!

#14: the humane thing would be to watch the ******* road and not run over a kitten in the first place.

Sometimes it's not that easy, kid. A lot of the times animals get run over is because they ran into the road without warning, not giving the driver time to react. Once you turn 16 and can start getting your lisence you'll understand.

and #16. it may have gotten out by mistake and they were getting ready to go after it. but the car came along.

Bad luck. As #14 said, you can at least go home knowing that you did the right thing. The children might not understand, but you saved the kitten more suffering.

dude you backed up before you even realized what you hit? not all animals that get hurt by cars die slowly and painfully. my dog got hit by a car and the only treatment she needed was painkillers. (a few months later, it turned out she even broke her pelvic bone, but that had no symptoms at all) when I was looking at her, right after the hit, she was shivering a lot but now she is perfectly fine and normal, and doesn't seem to be in any pain.

Kittens are fragile, especially when they are around the same size as a squirrel. If it was run over, it most likely wasn't going to be getting back up again anytime soon.

Not sure how to take this... Though you could try to use some alchemy to bring it back as long as you don't mind losing an arm and a leg (100000000 points to person who get the reference)

Or you could, you know, just transmute it with a living cat into a cat-cat chimera. Much safer and less limbs lost.

^^Full Metal Alchemist but for the FML, wow that sucks, hopefully the parents explained to the kids what happened and get them a new kitten

I hope you mean "get them another kitten after teaching them to properly care for them." I'm sure the kids know not to go near the road so they won't be hit or stolen, its not much of a leap to think they should keep their kitten away from the road for the same reason. That being said, they are kids and it only takes a second of distraction for a kitten to slip away and chase a blowing leaf into the road. Poor little kids.
