Today, I ran over a squirrel. I saw it twitching, so I backed over it to end its suffering. It wasn't a squirrel; it was a kitten. The children it belonged to watched as I ran over their kitten. Twice. FML

#35 stole the words right out of my mouth. I think I'm going to puke...

Um, FYL? No. F the kitten's and childrens' lives? Yes.

1) Just because you ran over it once, does not mean it was definitely going to die. 2) Therefore you probably murdered some kid's kitten. 3) You deserve it even if you were trying to do the right thing. 4) I hope you went to apologise to the family or you are a right bastard. And #31"there have already been tons of much more tragic car accidents because the people braked and turned in front of some dumb animals who ran across the roads all of a sudden. Gawd." What makes it right to say that animals are less important than humans?

So you're saying if I have a choice to run over an animal or run into a tree/another car I should run into the tree/other car and risk myself and/or someone else being seriously injured or dead because of an animal? No. Sorry. I'm not going to risk my life in a car for an animal. I hit a squirrel once because I couldn't avoid it and I tried to make sure it was in between the tires but my car was too low. I wasn't going to slam the brakes and make someone rear end me and destroy my car/injure me for an animal. And a small, gray kitten could very well look like a squirrel darting across the road, especially against the gray pavement that roads usually are. Animals are not the most important thing you are taught to avoid in driving school -- you're taught to look out for people, big animals such as deer and moose, and other cars. A small animal that poses no threat to your vehicle/your safety are not the priority when driving. I'd rather run over a kitten than run into a tree, another car, or let someone rear end me badly. Insurance won't cover damage because you tried to avoid a kitten. It's one of those f everyone involved's lives.

I read that as "do your best to avoid it"

I think it would have been even funnier, and slightly ironic, if you had also been driving a Dodge. Thanks DC

It's law you don't stop for animals in the road as far as I remember. You only did the humane thing though huh . . . If it was genuinely going to die . . . **** His life? No. **** the Kids lives? No. **** that cats life!

That is really awful. For the kids and the kitten, not so much for you. Please at least go get them another kitten and try not to run over that one too.

One word: Dumbass. You should've gotten out to go and check if it was dead first.. And then of course, I hate to blame little kids, but its partially their fault.. they're too dumbasses for one: letting their cat outside. Two: Letting the cat out of their control. People who let their cats outside are disgusting to me. People who run OVER those cat's are mental retards who should go get checked.
