Hello everyone! Yes I do have insurance, but the last time a friend of mine needed an ambulance the bill was still over $1500 after insurance. Also yes, in America you do have to pay when you go to the hospital. Luckily the water park just so happened to be built directly next to a fire station, so they just wheeled me over there and treated me on site. I was very dehydrated, and when I blacked out I was actually in line to get a water from the concession stand but I had been waiting in line for over 30 minutes in the heat which didn't help.

I'm not sure if I needed to say OP here like everyone else does because it doesn't show that this has a follow up
I've done it, too. Definitely from tribe Waitansee. Ambulances are so expensive, as well as treatment in general. For those of us not making a ton of money, healthcare seems like a death sentence and I only go if I absolutely freaking have to. It's not as though I have a ton of faith in the system anyway, as I went to two ER's, one on a referral from my doctor for appendicitis, and both times they said "ovarian problems! You just have girly issues. Cancel the surgical consult." Two months later, I had my SWOLLEN, HELLA INFECTED appendix removed laparoscopically. Thanks, earlier ER's, for taking care of that. I now have to pay them THOUSANDS, where they bill the tests, hospital, and doctor all separately. Yaaaaay...
I pay for ambulance cover in Victoria, Australia and it only costs me 40 dollars for the year. That's an investment most people can make. It's better than getting charged a couple of hundred dollars. Also, in Australia if you are a pensioner or on a low income the ambulance ride is free.
you do realize you can't take your money with you when you die, right? you need to take care of your health
He was barely conscious. In case you don't know what that means, it means he could barely think about what he was saying. He didn't say it on purpose, idiot.
I would have completely done the same thing lol I got charged $900 just for being taken to the ER. Never again.
Only in America..... In ANY other developed country (and a growing number of third-world countries), universal health care means you don't really have to worry about money when sick. The USA is literally the only rich country where this kind of stuff happens.
Not entirely true. Health care is still bloody expensive here in Australia aswell. You can get medicare discounts but its honestly barely worth mentioning.
Aren't emergency calls free?
**** YEAH!!!!!
i would say the same thing last time i heard someone i know say their ambulance ride was close to $1000
Money can't buy health. I think your life is a lot more important then money op.
