Today, I regret calling my hardass boss a cocksucking bastard when I quit a few months back. My new job just laid me off, and I could desperately use a good reference from the aforementioned cocksucking bastard. FML

As anybody with a lick of sense knows, you don't ever do that to a former boss, no matter how ******* terrible they were. It's a little something called professionalism. Learn it

So you go back to him, get on your knees, and offer to return the favor. Is it basically pimping yourself out? Yes. But a man's got to do what a man's got to do to get a good reference.

You're an idiot. I know others have said this, but it bears repeating: Never, ever, ever burn your bridges like that. No matter how much you think it, never insult your boss that way. Maybe the place that laid you off can give you a reference.

Never Never Never ever burn a bridge.Never know when you might need a former employer.

While OP does deserve it, a lot of y'all sound like pretentious douchebags.

its TECHNICALLY illegal for afore mentioned boss to "blackball" you BUT that doesn't mean he won't. Unless he REALLY deserved that comment then maybe not ask him for help? Sucks to be you OP

Well the question of would you rehire this person is 100% legal to say: NO! During a ref check that is a question that is always asked and is about the only question someone can give negative feedback for other than loss prevention reasons.

All of you in the comments are ******* corporate-whipped *******.

Don't burn bridges. Never burn bridges. You never know when you'll be standing on one and need it.

That's why you don't do that. Never burn down a bridge on the way out.

At my job, one of my bosses is a cocksucking bastard, I told him to his face, and then we had a shit talking war. Pros to working in a warehouse.
